Yahoo and Bing started hurting Google market share

After enjoying a substantial phase of domination, the market share of Google search engine has dropped a bit due to gaining slight esteem by Bing and Yahoo in a ruthless field of internet search.

However, it doesn’t mean that the leading name in search engine will nearly be out of the competition any time sooner. The only threat that can stun the Google and let it aside is any flare innovation takes place in search engine technology.

A few value added feature cannot sideline the Google or make it a preceding chronicle, said David A. Steinberg, chairperson of Zeta Interactive.

He further claimed that the one and only thing that can knock the leader off is the exclusive and innovative addition that will propose such features to the users which Google is still unable to offer for instance, Facebook is another biggest database online portal which is now engaged in designing searching area in internet that may includes one’s social graphs etc.

In spite of all, the strategies of Bing and Yahoo search engines have slightly impacted the market grip of Google. The whole scenario started from the year of 2014, when Mozilla flowed away the Google as a default search engine in its browser. The Firefox powered by Mozilla has made a strategic alliance with Yahoo by making it Search engine as default.

Conversely, Apple’s safari browser has struck a deal with Bing and considers retaining the default search engine contract with Bing for its Safari desktop browser. Apple has already allocated Bing as default browser in mobile version and didn’t revitalize its agreement with the Google, which is going to end this month.

Such strategic moves of browsers will surely give a competitive advantage to Yahoo and Bing but this will certainly not hurt the market position of Google which dominates 75.2 percent in search referrals. Moreover, the Google has other blockbuster online products such as Youtube, AdWords etc that will consecutively give substantial support and bring built-in traffic to promote their search engine.

A recent study conducted by StatCounter, which reveals top players in US search market, Bing with 12.5 percent of share comes at second position right after Google and Yahoo sits at third place with total proportion of 10.4 percent.
