Generally, the ratio of pad
printing silicon rubber and the silicon oil depends on the size of
pattern which customer needs to print. The larger the pattern is,
the softer the printing pad should be, and more silicon oil needs
to add. Contrarily, if a silicon pad with high hardness needed,
silicon oil should be added less or none. General hardness of the
printing pad is *5A°~**5 A°. If too much silicon oil added in the
silicon rubber, the printing pad will be too soft, and this will
limit the printing times. For silicon oil will destroy the
molecular chain of the silicon rubber, no matter how supreme
quality the silicon rubber is. And therefore, the printing pad will
be abrasion intolerant and solvent intolerant and easy
ageing.
Frequently asked questions about Silicone

printing:
Why the silicon
pad did not absorb the ink? Any silicon pad or liquid silicon
rubber could absorb ink well. If large patterns or big letters need
to print, the printing pad will for sure absorb ink well. For small
letters, please do not use hard silicon pad, as it could not absorb
the printing ink thoroughly from the steel plate.
The reasons why the silicon pad has a short service life are listed
as follows:
(1)The problem caused by inappropriate filtration of silicone
rubber, and impurities in the packaging process due to the
uncleanness of barrels and bags.
(2)The short service life of the silicone pad has a close
relationship with the adding amount of silicone oil. The more the
silicone oil added, the softer the silicone pad will be. The
silicone oil will destroy the molecule of the silicone rubber,
thereby bringing about the non-durable and easy ageing of the
silicone pad.
(3)All the users should know the properties of pad printing
silicone rubber. The service life of the silicone pad has close
relationship with the size of the printed patterns. For example, if
a big pattern to be printed, a big silicone pad is required; if a
small pattern to be printed, a small silicone pad (the silicone pad
has to be adjusted according to the size of the patterns, and the
proportion between the size of the silicone pad and the pattern is
3:1.)
