SS**0(S****0,W Nr.1.***6,DIN X*2Cr*3) is a martensitic stainless steel with high mechanical properties and is ferromagnetic in the annealing and hardening condition. SS**0 contains the minimum amount of chromium to impact stainless steel properties. SS**0 resists oxidation and scaling up to ***0 Deg F.Hardness is one of the SS**0’s best features. It resists abrasion and wear better than most **0 series stainless steels.

SS**0 is also a kind of hardenable, straight-chromium stainless steel which combines the superior wear resistance of high carbon alloys with the excellent corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steel.

Oil quenching this alloy from temperatures between ***0 Deg F to ***0DegF, produce the highest strength and/or wear resistance as well as corrosion resistance. A range of as-quenched hardnesses is achieved by varying the carbon level from 0.*5% maximum in SS**0.
