This is a mechanized tunneling technology by Semi-Shield / Shield TBM. This machine is determined in soil type according to the geological features. It is set undergound for operation at the vertial casing of excavation. It is equipped with cylinder-typed construction outside - pipe or segment consisting of cutter head, main machine, slurry system.

There are two types of earth pressure balance shield and a slurry shield.
