Some fabrics have valuable intricate hand crafted embroidery, heavy stone work and some are simply a pretty print on the six yards of fabric. Most sarees come with matching blouses. Some fashionable party wear saree's are often worn only once or twice. The "falls" are already stitched on them which can be removed and re-used. These versatile saree's only often worn once or twice can often be used to make covers for quilts, blankets, pillows, handbags, shoes in fact almost anything the creative mind can manifest.
