Overview

⦁ The complex partial box girder (CPB) method is a composite girder method in which I-type girder with excellent bending rigidity is applied to the center and concrete is placed on the top of the lower flange of the BOX-type girder with excellent twisting rigidity at the pier point to increase structural rigidity and reduce the amount of steel.

Characteristics of Complex Partial Box Girder

⦁ The complex partial box girder (CPB) method compensates for the shortcomings of steel that is vulnerable to compression by forming a plate girder-shaped cross-section in the center of the span and applying a double composite cross-section with concrete, a material that is highly resistant to compression.
⦁ In the center of the span, an I-shaped cross-section with excellent resistance to bending was added to the cross-section to compensate for the shortcomings of the tendency to be over-designed when designing with a steel box girder to enable efficient design. Accordingly, it is a new type of method that can reduce the weight by reducing the amount of steel in the center of the span when applying the curved bridge..
